Simple Brown Paper Bag Packaging

I attended a Favorite Things Party this past weekend hosted by my lovely friend. I wanted to find a fun inexpensive way to package my favorite thing to bring to the party. Never underestimate the brown paper bag. There's so many endless possibilities you can do with a package of these. I decided to use them to put my gifts in to bring to the party.

These little gift bags are so simple. I started with 11 bags (this is how many gifts I needed to bring), and cut the first 4 inches off the top of the bags.

Using a pair of decorative scissors I just cut a line across the top with them to make a decorative edge on the bags. 

Then I folded over the tops of the bags, and then using a hole puncher punches two holes in the middle of the bag an inch apart. 

Repeat till all your bags are punched. 

Then using some fun ribbon to tie my packages together, I cut 11 strips of ribbon 10 inches long. 

Now you'll want to thread your ribbon through the holes. Thread it forward facing instead of behind you, this way you'll be left with the design from the ribbon showing forward like in the images below.

Then you'll take each end of the ribbon from behind and thread them in the opposite holes to tie your packages. 

They will look like this when finished:

So pretty, and like I mentioned there endless possibilities with these. Switch up the ribbon, add washi tape to the bottoms of the bags for more decoration too! You could also stamp the fronts of them, perfect for different holidays.

{Parties}: Christmas Ornament Exchange

On Dec. 4th I hosted a ladies ornament exchange party at my home for the women of our church. We had a great time of food, hanging out and of coarse everyone went home with an ornament for their tree. 

Here's a few details from the party, I love throwing parties and entertaining in my home. I haven't done a holiday party in a while so this was really fun for me. 

The cupcake stand, this is a party must have for me. I love cupcakes, I added some ribbon on the side of my stand to help it be a little more festive for the holiday season.

{DIY} Festive Candy Bars

I found this little idea online, and I just thought it was too cute! I decided to try and make these for my Ladies Ornament Exchange at church a couple weekends ago. They make great party favors for any party, and it's a good way to use up left over wrapping paper scraps. Don't we all have those, and don't know what to use them for? 

Well, here's an idea. You can use any kind of wrapping paper you want, this would also be perfect for birthday parties or other gatherings you might have. I'm thinking about making these for Ava's birthday party too. 

Here's what you need:

Chocolate Candy Bars (I went with Hershey, I tried to find the ones with the silver paper but my store didn't have them so I got these instead)

Wrapping Paper (any kind/print)

Tape

Scissors

Using the candy bar make a template for your wrapper, once you've got the template use that to measure and cut out as many as you need to cover your candy bars completely. 

 Keep cutting and stacking them up until you have enough, I needed 12 pieces to cover mine. 

Then, lay your candy bar down and tape one end down, and then the other end over the one you already taped. Kinda like wrapping a gift! 

 It'll look like this:

Repeat this process till you've covered all your candy bars. Then pile them up and admire your handy work and how awesomely creative you are! Try not to eat them. 

 Aren't they prettier than just plain candy bars? Yup, I think so too!!

Week #50

*I'm a little ahead of myself on my BC Challenge, which is great! Because for a while there I was thinking that I wasn't going to be able to finish by the years end. But, I only have two more weeks of projects to share with you. Stay tuned as I finish out this year's challenge and introduce you to next year's challenge. 

Goodie Bags

This past weekend I attended the Arizona Girls of Purity Conference with my students. The conference is in its 6th year, and every year it's better than the last. This year I wanted to do something special for the girls to remember the weekend by. 

I decided to make cute little goodie bags for the occasion. I found some really cute things to fill the bags with, and gave them to the girls on Friday night. They were super inexpensive and really fun to make. 

I think this is a great addition to any event or fun thing you're throwing. 

I picked up these really cute initial notebooks, with each of the girls initials. Some lotion and lip stain, pens, candy and wrote them all notes and put them in cute bags. I found everything at Michael's Craft stores and Target.
