A Small but Big Dream.

It's Friday. Oh Friday how I welcome thee. The weekend ahead, with nothing on the agenda except celebrating my sweet hubby's birthday.

Ava and I will bake him a pie, at his request for his birthday.

We'll do our best to be lazy but that may not happen because I've got to many projects on want to complete.

When Orion and I got married we lived out of state from family. We lived 4 hours away from my family. During this time it was nice to be only  a few hours away and be able to make it home for parties, vacations and holidays.

When we moved to Arizona it was a time in our lives where a lot of things were changing that were out of our control. We needed a fresh start, I was newly pregnant and we looked forward to starting a family in this new adventure.

Once Ava was born everything changed for me. I began to miss my family even more, and longed to be closer to them. I wanted them to see Ava grow up, I wanted them to be apart of our family moments.

If we were having coffee today I would tell you that for the last couple of years that has been my dream. A small dream. But yet a dream that seemed way to big to ever even happen.

Orion and I last last few years have attempted many times to move out of Arizona. It's true. We've applied for jobs, sent resumes, had phone interviews all that led nowhere. Doors closed left and right, and it became clear that God had us here.

So we started looking for a house, and decided that this is where we would be for a while. Orion got a raise at his job which we were so very thankful for, I was able to stay at home with my kids. And I quietly tucked this dream of living near family away in my heart.

All while silently at night saying prayers to God about it. We've had sort of a "if we build it they will come" mentality. Thinking maybe just maybe the longer we live here, some of our family will move here someday. Someday.

Can I tell you something? Something so amazing, I could just cry right now as I type this! These are my Grandparents, aren't they cute?!! Yes, yes they are.

I know not everyone is close to their grandparents, but I am extremely close to them. They have been such an important part of my life. They taught me about the Lord, my Grandmother taught me about prayer. She taught me how to sew so many years ago. My grandfather is funny, I get my quick whit from him. And I'll never forget the day he walked me down aisle on my wedding day.

My small but very big dream is coming true this weekend.

A dream that seemed so, so big God has had his hand in all the while.

They are moving here.

I almost didn't want to talk about it for fear that it just might not be true. I didn't want to rub it in to my other family, but I'm also just so excited I could burst.

And not only are they moving here, but they are moving right across the street from me and my family.

The Lord has long since known my desires and he has answered this prayer that I've had on my heart for so long. I am so thankful.

I can not wait to have them close. I look forward to having them around for everyday life, holidays and everything else.

If we were having coffee today I would tell you that even though something may seem oh so small to you, it may not be small to God. And those prayers that you think are to small to pray God wants to hear them. He wants to answer them. So go ahead, let him.

Coffee Date: Slowing down, enough to wait.

Happy Friday friends!

This week went by so fast, if I'm being honest it's been a hard long week. Do you ever have those weeks or days when the good stuff is overshadowed by all these hard things that happened? Where you're trying to just remember the bits and pieces that are good and great just so you don't get overwhelmed by the negative? Or maybe that's just me.

Today, no vlog. I may just cry if I did a vlog and who wants to see that?!

Today, I want to be honest. With myself, with you. Things aren't always running smoothly, I have my good days and bad just like any one else.

If we were having coffee today, I'd tell you that this has been my view for much of the week.

Holding this little guy.

Because if we we're having coffee today I'd share with you that the transition from 1 to 2 children has been hard on me. Much harder than I thought.

He has completely different needs than Ava did. He's teaching me how to parent all over again. It's a joy, but it's also very trying at times.

I've let the laundry and cleaning wait just one more day.

I've let the whole world stop pretty much this week just so I could focus on my babies and my home.

If we were having coffee today I'd share with you that even during these trying times in motherhood it's such a blessing. And, I'll be honest I've spent more time with me & the Lord. He's drawing me closer to him during these days when I feel like I could give up.

I wait.

I wait on the Lord.

This week I won't lie I feel a little weary. I feel a little overwhelmed. But, I'm thankful for my family. For this awesome gift of being a mom. For how the Lord encourages and sustains me.

If we were having coffee today I'd share with you some encouraging versus I've been praying and waiting on this week.

Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matt. 11:28-30

If we were having coffee today, what would you share with me?

A Coffee Date: When God Calls

Hey Everyone! Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing a vlog, I sorta don't like vlogging only because I don't like to hear my voice. Sounds so weird, but here's to pushing myself out of my comfort zone!

Today's vlog & coffee date are about sharing what God's laid on your heart lately. Come listen and see what I've been pondering in my heart for a while now and how God's using it.

Ps- I think I used the word "excited" a million times during the time of this vlog!

Ok, now you're turn if we were having coffee today what would you tell me about what God's doing in your life during this season.

Once again, I'll be linking up with Alissa. Go here to check out her blog and listen to some other amazing bloggers share their hearts.

Coffee Date & Some Random Thoughts

Happy Friday friends! Welcome to a coffee date and some random thoughts going on in my mind today.

If we were having coffee today, I would tell you once again my cup is filled with tea. (non-caff) And then I would tell you that my mind is filled with lots of random thoughts today. Sit back, grab a cup and enjoy!

Photobucket

*Maybe it's the fact I am preggers, or maybe it's because of my insane desire to throws things away but I'm having a serious de-cluttering weekend. I've already packed up three bags of clothing to donate, and a box of books.

Photobucket

*I think Ava maybe dropping her nap time soon, or at least cutting it shorter. This makes me sad.

*We've been fighting tantrums with her lately. This is interesting.

*Potty training is not happening like I thought it would.

Photobucket

*I can't believe that summer is almost over, but it doesn't feel like it since it's still 115 degrees out. Sunny all the time, and I don't have kids that go to school to make me feel like summer is over.

*Never buy crayons from the Dollar Store, they aren't worth the dollar. And I just threw away all of Ava's crayons this morning. There's a reason Crayola is still in business.

Photobucket

*I started a 'to-do' list this morning, and I already feel overwhelmed.

I'm so glad we could sit and have coffee this morning, I'm enjoying these coffee dates. I think they're a great way to get personal and share some fun aspects of our lives.

What would you tell me today if we were sitting down for coffee?

*Once again I'll be linking up with the lovely Alissa from Rags to Stitches.

Psst...the winner of the DoStix giveaway was announced. Go here to see if it was you!

A Coffee Date

Photobucket

Hello, friends! Good morning. Or maybe afternoon depending on what time zone you're reading this in.

It's 9:30 am here in Phoenix, and I've been up since 6 am. By 6:30 I was lying on the couch with Ava watching the Barbie movie trying my hardest to not fall asleep. Since we're having coffee together this morning friends, I'm just going to go ahead and tell you that I am still in my p.j.s, and that I wish that cup there had iced coffee in it and not water. But, since I'm off caffeine for this pregnancy water will have to do.

Currently we're listening to Disney Radio on Pandora while Ava sits next to me and colors. I'm trying to gather my thoughts this morning. This week I had two days off, and it was glorious to only work two days this week, and now be home with my girl. I love how fast this week went by, but at the same time it reminds me that time is moving faster than I would like.

If we were having coffee together, I'm sure you'd remind me to take a breath. Right?

If we were having coffee together today, I would tell you that recently I've been dealing with a lot of feelings about being scared. Mostly regarding my relationships.

Scared that I haven't found that close knit group of friends like I used to have.

Scared that after three years of living here that I never will.

Scared that I miss my family more than anyone (except my husband) knows, and how that will effect life as I know it.

I don't want a lot of friends, but I crave a close group. A few girlfriends that I can hang out with. See our kids play together, and enjoy life together. For some reason everyone is so spread out, doing their own thing and I wonder if they crave the same thing I do?

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you all that, and then I would ask you to pray for me. Because friends I know prayer works, I know it heals and gives you peace and perspective when you need it most.

Then I would say friend, what's on your heart today? And since we're having coffee together you have to talk and share with me.

Let's start a discussion today. Leave me your thoughts in the comments below. Or if you prefer to email me you can.

I'm linking up today with Alissa. She has a weekly coffee date, it's so honest and vulnerable and real. I love that. I crave that. Join us today here.
