Families in T.V.

What do all these families have in common?

They all have children on t.v. and all all apart of TLC's line up!

So here's my question of the day:
Why have these other families not been publicly criticized for having their families and children on t.v? Why has the media and others spoken of exploitation of Jon & Kate's children but not of these families?

I personally do not care, I think each family has the right and choice to make the decision that is best for their family.

But, how can the media and people criticize Jon & Kate Gosselin for their children being on t.v. and receiving some of the same perks of fame and stardom that these families have as well and not say anything about them?

What do you think? Weigh in?

'America's Favorite Family'

This may very well be the first, and last time I blog about this subject. I don't want to beat a dead horse or add to the opinions of many.

I've watched this show from the beginning. Orion and I love this show. We've always said that we relate most to Jon & Kate as a couple.

Tonight was the premiere episode of Season 5 of one of my fave shows Jon & Kate Plus 8. I've been looking forward to this for weeks now, but in light of tabloid rumors and all that's going on with this family I was truly sad as I watched tonight's episode.

You could see that both we're frustrated, hurt, and probably angry at a lot of things. I felt sad as I watched them talk about how they are 'doing everything' for the sake of their kids, and how they barely spoke at the sextuplets 5th birthday party, and how they didn't know what their future holds.

I agree their personal lives concerning the issues surrounding them are personal and should stay that way. I choose not to believe everything I read, but hearing them talk tonight I wish, hope and pray that they can work it out. Not only for the 'good of their children' but because they love each other and want to make it work. I believe love conquers all, and if you want your marriage to work it can.

I won't pretend that I have a clue what they are going through or how their lives have been impacted by this. I don't. I can only imagine how they feel or how I would feel having people invade my privacy or take pictures of my children and be so invasive.

People say, they brought this upon themselves. But, I don't think anyone expects this kind of thing. No matter, if they are on t.v. or not. I think we have to remember that they first and foremost were and are, a regular family that just were trying to tell their story and capture memories for their children.

Who asks for this? No one, I'm pretty sure of it.

She Did It!

She did it! She won! Yeah to Shawn Johnson on winning this season's DWTS! I really was excited for either of the 3 to win last night, but I am especially proud of Miss Shawn and her win! Yeah, for her, yeah for Iowa girls everywhere! She's the youngest ever to win the show, and this is her partner Mark's 2nd win on the show! I will miss it over the summer, but I am sure I will have enough Bachelorette, Southern Bells, and The Hills to keep me busy!

Anyone else love reality t.v. as much as I do? (just throwin' that out there) Pretty sure my Hubs is annoyed with it! :)

Who Will Win?

Who Will Win tonight? I'm so torn, I love all of the final three for different reasons! This has been my favorite season so far, can't wait till they go on tour. Maybe I'll be able to make it this year! Here's my final thoughts on the 3 we have left.
***
Melissa & Tony
Love her. After her awful season on The Bachelor, it's been awesome to see her do so well. She's an amazing dancer, one of my faves from the beginning. Her partner Tony has never made it to the finals before. I would love to see her win! She's my top pick for tonight's win.
Shawn & Mark
Love Shawn, she's from Iowa so I love her even more. She's the youngest competitor they have ever had. She's amazing. She has such grace, and she's done everything so tasteful for being just 17! Her freestyle was all star last night!

Gilles & Cheryl
Ok, I love Cheryl. It's not so much as I like Gilles, cause honestly I really could care less about him. I just love her, she's my favorite Pro dancer. So I'd love to see her win. If she wins it'll be her 3rd win. The most anyone has ever won on the show! That would be awesome.
***
SO, I am torn between; My Iowa girl, My fave Pro dancer, and the girl that came out of nowhere, Melissa! Since I love them all I'll be happy with whomever wins!

Over all, I want Melissa to win!

Watch & See what happens tonight!

Friday Frills: Izzie she or Izzien't She?

I love, love Grey's! Last night was the season finale, two hours long, by myself to ponder the woes, trials, and loves of this show! And let me tell you last night didn't disappoint! But, it did leave us all with a cliff hanger on weather or not Izzie lives or dies, due to her tumor. Then throw in O'Malley being hit by a bus and dragged only to be admitted to Seattle Grace in the ER. Except no one knew it was him because of his dis member ed body! Until he writes "007" on Meredith's hand do they rush to save what's left of him! Crazy huh?!!!

All of this would have been a little bit more heart wrenching for me, and most others if we didn't already know about the swirling rumors the actors in real life are leaving the show! It leaves you to wonder if the rumors are true and if their contracts will be renewed?! Only time, and summer will tell us that!
Derek and Meredith married each other on a signed blue post it note! We must wait till next season to see if they finally say "I do." Bailey got the fellowship with peeds, only to get an ultimatum from her Hubby, Christina & Owen finally love each other and maybe headed for greener pastures, Little Grey & Sloane may or may not move in with each other. Till next season when we sort all this out!

Dacing Fever!

If you haven't been watching, you're missing out! The last two nights of DWTS was incredible! Every time I watch the show it makes me want to be out there with them having just as much fun, and last nights was no exception! They did three really amazing group dances with the pros, so much fun. What was a stake? Double Elimination! After a high energy night on Monday, with the first 10 of the season, and first perfect scores, everything was pushed into high gear. Sadly, Holly & Dimitry, Karina & The Woz were voted off last night. Leaving 9 couple left to battle it out. Here's my faves from who remains!
Shawn & Mark: she's from Iowa, and I love her...ok! But she's also a awesome dancer too! They are a perfect mix, I love to watch them!
Lacy & Steve-O: Let me make a correction, I love Lacey. I'm not so jazzed about Steve-O, but because he's with her I like them together. She's the rebel, the daring one on the dance floor. And, she's a real woman with a "real" body type and I love that even more. This is her 2nd season on DWTS and I hope she stays on for a while, she brings freshness to the floor!

Chuck & Julianne: They are the couple next door. I love Julianne as a dancer, and this year dancing with her real life love has got me hooked on what they are going to do next, and what chemistry we'll see on the floor from these two. Keep watching!
Melissa & Tony: First of all...she's amazing! She's a fabulous dancer, and every week she proves it. She's a contender for sure! I love seeing her do so well, after her last blunder with reality t.v. She's got an amazing fan base as well, I think everyone wants to see her do well. Me included.
Cherly & Gilles': She's awesome. He's awesome. Together they are fabulous! They got the first perfect score of the season on Monday night! Cheryl has been a long time favorite of mine! She was my first pro that I really feel in love with, her choreography is awesome, and I think she really brings out the best in her partner.
Top 3 picks:
(who I think will make it into the finals)
Cheryl & Gilles'
Melissa & Tony
Shawn & Mark
Bottom 3 for next week:
(my predictions)
Steve-O & Lacey
David & Kim
Edyta & Lawrence

Monday Nights are Good Again!

If ever there was a show that I wanted to be on, it would be Dancing with the Stars! LOVE it! Last night it premiered with 13 new couples, and lots of fan favorites! After the Bachelor drama, ABC now has their Monday nights back, and I am looking forward to watching every Monday! They have their 1st real life couple with Pro dancer Julianne and her boyfriend Chuck Wicks dancing together, the shows 1st engaged couple dancing against each other in Pro dancers Maks & Korina. I think there is going to be a lot of sizzle this season. Two people have already bowed out of the competition due to injury; Jewel and Nancy O'dell. Who were replaced by celebs Holly Madison and Melissa from The Bachelor!

I'm already loving this season, here's a list of why:

Tony & Melissa: Yes, that's Melissa from The Bachelor. She's back and I am so excited to watch her this season. So glad she's doing well, and decided last minute to do the show! I can't wait to watch more and more of her. All those that watched, you know the audience cheered and stood on their feet for her! YEAH MELISSA!

Shawn & Mark: Shawn Johnson is an Olympic gold medalist, and she's from Iowa! Obviously I love her already. She's the youngest they have had on the show yet! I'm super excited to watch what she does, I already things she's great!

Cheryl & Gilles: Cheryl Burke is my fave pro dancer. I don't care, who she dances with each season I still love her, even if her partner is bad. She can do no wrong. She's amazing.

I'll be Watching!

Since I am boycotting all things Bachelor related from now on, I am excited though to watch Jillian as the next Bachelorette! She's such a breath of fresh air for this show, she doesn't take herself to seriously, and I like that about her. I hope we find her lucky in love with 1 guy only when the season is over. And, I hope she ends up seriously, deliriously happy! Wouldn't that be sweet?!!

Someone needs to restore America's faith in this craziness, besides (of coarse) Trista & Ryan!

Tune in May 18th to watch and see!

And just you are in need of something to replace Monday nights with the Bachelor, I highly suggest Dancing with the Stars! The new season starts next Monday!

Funny stuff.

I found these clips of 88 year old Gladys Hardy calling into the Ellen show! Simply halarious! I laughed so hard. Watch and see for yourself!

Brothers & Sisters

Well, you know how much I love DWTS! This week was so exception for impressing....two Brother/Sister duos did some some spectacular dances this week! Lacey and her bro Benji did a cute little country dance to "Ticks", and Julianne and her bro Derek did a cute little number to "Great Balls of Fire", they were awesome! It's now one of my all time fav partner dances! It made me wish that my little bros and I could jive as well as them! In case you missed it, check them out:

Lacey & Benji:

Julianne & Derek:

It's down to the final 4 now! I'm excited for next weeks semi-final round!

DWTS

After a long awaited summer it's back! Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) is back for it's 7th season! I couldn't be more excited! It's coming back with a 3 night season premier, 2 dances in 3 days, and a double elimination! Can you believe it?!!
I watched both Monday and Tuesday nights, and now tonight will be the second elimination in 3 days! I can't wait. My favorite celeb this season has to be the wonderful Brooke Burke. My favorite pro has always been Cheryl Burke. But I must say Cloris Leachman has to go. She's a great lady, but not a dancer, and is a little too goofy for me, she needs to go tonight! And yes, some people play fantasy football but I play Fantasy Dancing!

Did you watch? Just curious?then

I did! And the jury is still out... secretly I would much rather have the old cast back catching up where they left off in life.

But the little snippets and teasers of Kelly's child, Erin "Silver", and the return of Jackie Taylor just may keep me interested enough to see what happens.

now

What do you think?

news flash.

My friend Meghan she's on the news! She reports it to be exact! I was surfing her news website this morning like a stalker, and came across some of her work. I must say that I am so very proud of her.
It brings me back to days in high school our Senior year going to college visits together, and planning our futures. Once upon a time we were going to attend the University of Iowa and be roommates, and having the same major. In the end we both ended up following our dreams and going to out of state colleges. And life is so different I think than we thought it would be when we were eighteen.
Today, I'm so happy to see her living her dream. As I watched her clips online this morning I couldn't help but think she's doing what she set out to do. I'm so proud, she's a wonderful friend and I am glad to see her doing well.
Meghan, if you read this: I think you're amazing! Come back to Iowa soon and visit, better get come to Minnesota and see me!

I wish...........

I was on Dancing with the Stars! Seriously...if I could have a job where I could dance all day long and get paid for it I would. Plus, you get to wear really cute and fun outfits, and heels! I think that beats any office job I've ever had or will! I've been pretty hooked since season 1! You've heard me rant and rave before, and I just love, love this show! They all seem to have so much fun, and truly have fun with each other. Last night was the finale, if you didn't watch it you missed out and will have to wait till next season. Or, catch it on You Tube. Either way I'll be patiently waiting till the end of summer when they announce next seasons cast!

PS- If I couldn't be a dancer on the show, I would for sure want Samantha's job! She too gets to dress up fancy! Isn't this so fun!?!

Going for Gold!

Last night was the season 6 finale of DWTS! If you didn't watch you missed out! Kristi & Mark took the cake. I was hoping it would come down to Kristi & Mark and Cheryl & Christian. But it came down to Jason & Edyta and Mark & Kristi! I wished I was there live to see it, but for now you'll just have to enjoy this video I found of Kristi's win of that ugly mirror ball trophy! I hope she places it right next to her Olympic gold!

Happy Feet!

If you read my blog yesterday you heard me rave of DWTS 100th episode that was coming up. The high light for me last night and my favorite part(s) were probably 2 things! One, Cheryl and Christian are staying and in the competition another week! YES! And two, the group dance that opened up the show. The group dances are truly amazing, I love when they do the group dances. And to see them live is even better, last nights was SOOO GOOD! But, I just had to share this clip of last nights group dance. I loved all the glitter, the dance, and it made me wanna get my dancing shoes on! Hubby was even inspired as he danced around the living room painting! Now, that is a video you should see!

Happy Dancing!

Loving It!

I am loving DWTS this season! I get my dancing shoes on every Monday & Tuesday. Of coarse, I've always loved it you've heard me rave before but, last night was especially good! Kristi is my favorite celeb of the season, I've been a fan of hers since she was on skates. But, my favorite pro dancer has always been Cheryl Burke. She won two times in a row with Drew & Emmitt, she's pretty amazing! She's the best, and I love watching her. She's been out of the finals for a couple seasons now (last season she was paired with Wayne Newton), she's making a come back this year! Last night her and Christian' did an amazing job despite his injury from the week before. Cheryl choreographed a one armed routine so as not to put any strain on his left injured arm! They tore it up, and landed 1st on the leader board beating out top leaders Kristi and Jason. I hope they make it to the final 3! My picks: Cheryl & Christian', Edyta & Jason, and Kristi and Mark will be in the final 3! We'll see if my picks are right! Tonight is the 100th episode of the show and I am excited to see some of my dancing favorites take the stage again!

Real Life Love

Now a week after Valentines Day I have been thinking about what "real love" truly means. This is my very first Valentine's being married and I must say that I love Valentines day more being married than I did dating! You can do so many fun things, and I was pleasntly surprised by my hubby to get breakfast in bed that morning! I was thinking this week about my favorite t.v. couples...you know those t.v. or movie couples that you just get lost in, and you watch weekly to do what happens! And even though you know it's not real, you just can't wait to see what happens! Here are my favorite couples....
Zach & Kelly... ahh the memories from childhood! They were part of my Saturday mornings...and I followed them well into the college years. :) They were young love, innocent love, and you always wanted them to end up together. You were even excited when Zack played a trick on Kelly's date for the senior prom so he could go with her instead! You knew it was for a good cause.

Ross & Rachel.... seriously who doesn't love them? All the ups and downs and "breaks!" They made you want to believe that in the end love always prevails! Right?

Daily I am reminded that God loves us the most! He wants to romance us, and spend time with us. He gave us his ulitimate gift of love when he sent his Son for us. His love always prevails..... when we read 1 Corinthians 13 it's not a loved for Brides & Grooms but truly the picture of how the Lord loves us, and what he promises us. It's his guide on how we should love others, because of his love for us. It's this kind of love that I choose even when Orion and I are in a fight and I'd like nothing more than to give up...I choose to love! The love of the Father is so pure, so unconditional, and so overwhelming to me most of the time. He loves me even though I don't deserve it sometimes, he loves me reguardless of what I do. And that is an amazing thought.

So long after Valentine's day is over, and the romance movies on Lifetime stop, and my roses wilt the Love of Christ always endures!
