Making the Most of Instagram with PRINTIC + A FREE PRINTIC for YOU!

It's no secret that I have a love for Instagram! I love taking and sharing pics with friends and family. One thing I have never done yet was print of my Instagrams from my account. I was excited when Printic contacted me about trying out their app. I couldn't wait to get my hands on some tiny little instas and figure out something creative to do with them.

Printic is an app you can download right to your phone for free for printing & sharing with friends and family. From there you just create and account and login into Instagram from the app.

Then you'll have to decide what to do with them! I decided to whip up a little DIY project to display mine. Follow along below for more on that.

JoAnn Fabrics has these awesome open back white frames in many different sizes and shapes. I scooped this one up when it was 60% off making it $12. I bought a can of spray paint to match my children's bath decor.

 photo printicproject2_zps402cb8ea.jpg

Couple coats of paint. Wait for it to dry. After it was all done drying I took some left over twine and stapled it to the back of the frame. I did two rows with my twine.

 photo printicproject4_zps0632be07.jpg
Next it was time to hang my frame up! I've been slowly decorating my children's bathroom so I decided to hang it there. I choose prints that had both kids in them since this is "their" bathroom.

Aren't they so sweet? I love personal touches like this in my home. I love how this project turned out and can't wait to order more. Getting the prints off my phone and into my hands is so fun!

{DIY} A Front Door Makeover

I'm excited to share with you guys today one of the projects I've been working on for our new home. I don't know about you but I've been having a hard time trying to figure out where I want to start on our new home. I have all these ideas, and sometimes all this space can be really overwhelming. So I decided to start on some smaller spaces first, while I harness the ideas I have for the bigger spaces.

I knew that I wanted to paint the front door as soon as we moved in. So I asked my DIY guru friend Destiny what kind of paint I should use. I used enamel oil based paint, I bought the Rustoleum brand already mixed from Lowes in black. I used a foam roller brush to apply my paint to my door. I didn't want any brush strokes to show.

Here's what the door/porch looked like before the makeover.

I also wanted to make a new wreath for our front door. I picked up up some supplies at JoAnn Fabrics, 3 hydrengas, a wooden "W" and a wreath. I already had on hand the white paint and glue sticks. When I got home I took the stems off the flowers and placed the flowers along the side all I did was hot glue them on, I also placed the leaves along the side. Then I painted the "W" white and then glued it along the other side of the wreath. Super easy and simple.

 photo IMG_3622_zps4935053b.jpg

I also added this cute "hello" vinyl sticker to the front door. Something cute for guests to see when they walk in the house.

And here's the after, I want to add some more stuff to our porch maybe some lanterns and a bench on the other side but for now I'm happy with how things are coming along.

Happy Saturday everyone!

I really want infuse as much of ourselves personally into this home. I want to take my time, something that I didn't do with our first home.

I can't wait to make it ours, and a special retreat that we can come home to daily. For now, here's a lil tour of the master bedroom and bath.

New House Tour:: Ava's Room, Nursery & Guest Room

Happy Tuesday!

Today I'm excited to share with you pictures of the kids' rooms and the guest room. It isn't much since these pictures were all taken at our closing. But I'm excited to show you snippets of the nursery soon, as it's the closest room in the house to being completed.

On with the tour,

First up, Ava's room:

I have some big ideas for this room. In addition to being a guest room I'd really like to use it as a creative space for my sewing and craft stuff. We'll see how that turns out. Right now the closet is full of all sorts of craft/office supplies.

Next up, the master bedroom & bath tour.

Come back Saturday to see the rest.

New House Tour:: Small Loft, Guest Bath & Laundry Room

Hello!

Welcome back friends. Sharing another house tour post today. I decided to break these up into a few posts, if you missed part one go here.

Photobucket
When you go upstairs you'll land on a small loft area.

Photobucket
Not sure yet what this area is going to be, I can't decide if it's big enough for a play area or not. But for now it holds our big book shelf full of books.

Photobucket
There's a linen closet also at the top of the stairs off this loft area.

When you walk upstairs the floor plan is split. To the left is the laundry room, guest bath, and two bedrooms. These two bedrooms are Ava's room and the nursery. And that's what I'm showing you today. To the left is a small hallway that leads to the rooms and everything else.

Guest bath. This will mostly be the kids bath and for when we occasionally have guests.

And this is a picture as you head back down the stairs, very high ceilings. Not even sure how I'm eventually going to change those light bulbs! ha!

New House Tour:: Down Stairs

New year, new home. I'm excited this year to tackle one of my biggest projects making our new house a home. It's been a long time since we've been homeowners and I'm so excited to make every square inch ours. It's a dream realized to be homeowners again.

Today I want to take you on a little tour of our new home, starting with the down stairs. Our new home has 4 bed rooms, two and a half baths, a small loft, and wonderful backyard. I'm going to break this up into two posts up stairs and down.

Here we go, welcome to part one of the tour:

Closet under the stairs. Which I plan to turn into a pantry. It's just off the kitchen and makes the most sense since there's no formal pantry in the house.

Moving, A New Home & A Dream Come True

After months of searching, and a truly emotional roller coaster I'm so happy to say that we found our forever home. We've moved! This past week and a half has been crazy, the story of this house is for sure one to tell but that will have to wait for another time.

We officially moved in December 1st, and we've been busy trying to make it livable and get ready for this baby's arrival all at the same time. Through this whole process we've been reminded of God's faithfulness to us, and it's been a dream realized since we lost our first home back in 2009.

I call this our "forever" home because it's the home we'll raise our children in, it's the one they'll remember first and it's probably going to be the one we'll live in for years to come. I can't wait to make it ours.

Photobucket

I hope to get a tour up in the next couple weeks, it probably won't be before baby but it'll be soon. We have big plans and ideas for this home. I can't wait to share all my ideas with you.

#11 crossed off the 30B430 list, to see the full list click here.

A Bedroom Makeover {World Market's HGTV Pinspiration Campaign}

I've been dreaming of a master bedroom makeover for a while now. My biggest issue with decorating is being indecisive about things. I've changed my bedroom bedding about three times now in the last five years, but now I feel like I have a good idea of what I like and don't want for our space. We got brand new bedding at the beginning of this year which I really love, and slowly started putting some things together.

This room is in desperate need of paint, some window coverings and some awesome accessories. It's a blank slate, and it's become kinda of dumping ground for a lot of what we don't know what to do with since we live in such a small space. I'm excited to do a makeover on this room once we're in a bigger space and get our master bedroom back to the sanctuary status it needs to have.

Here's a few pictures of how the room currently looks right now;

Photobucket

The bedding is from Target, and I love it we bought it earlier this year. It will stay.

Photobucket
The night stands they are one of my favorite things about the room, we re finished them a while back. You can read more about them here.

Photobucket

Our dresser is from Ikea and we've had it since we were married. Let's just get real it needs to be organized this entire area! All of this will stay in the room, but I'm dying to add some new pieces to spruce up this space.

Here's some dreamy finds that I found at World Market.
Photobucket

I'd love to do a little sitting area in our room with this awesome chair and reading lamp. I also want to add a bench at the foot of the bed for getting ready in the mornings and just because I love the look of it too! And remember those window coverings I mentioned? Yes, I love these shimmery Champagne curtains as well. I think they'll help brighten up the space a bit too since our bedding and a lot of other things are grey and black.

I can't wait to get some paint on the walls and finally finish this room. It's going to be one of the first things on my list in the new house.

{DIY} Spring Banner

Today Lifestyle Crafts releases their 'Big Top' collection of dies. They generously sent me two new dies to use for projects. I love their pennets die and the carousel one. I decided to make a pretty Spring banner using the bunting dies.

For this project I also used the Nesting Circle dies, these cut perfect circles, and I love them! Along with some stickers and letter stickers.

Here's what I did for this project; first I cut my circles. Six of them, one for each letter. In three different colors.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Next, I cut my bunting from the dies and some yellow paper. I used some purple and green too to make the banner different colors.

Photobucket

Then I used some glue and attached the banners to the edges of two of my circles. I choose the first and last circles to attach them too.

Photobucket

I also used some pink rafia that I had left over to attach the circles to each other. Then I added the letters to spell the word "Spring." And, also some stickers to jazz it up.

I choose to hang it on our bookshelf in the middle of the living room. I love how it turned out, the perfect touch of Spring!
