BFF

I can hardly sit and work today, because I am so excited! Beyond excited! I don't know what a word for that would be, but you can just imagine my excitement. My BFF Sara is coming to Minneapolis this weekend for our party. She lives in beautiful Janesville now with her hubby and baby girl Ellie! While although we don't get to see each other often, God has truly blessed us with an amazing friendship. Even though it's been months since I've seen her last, it's like no time has passed when I see her. We met freshman year of college, living across the hall from one another. She was the loud, energetic, outgoing one who came over to my room to see what we'd done with ours. We became instant friends, and through out the last couple of years have lived a lot of life with each other! There are so many memories, inside jokes, intimate conversations that I can recall in my head that make me love and appreciate her all the more. I couldn't ask for a better friend. She makes me laugh so hard, reminds me of my greatness, is so encouraging, and one of the most real and honest people I know. I appreciate her so much, and I am so glad she's in my life. I'm so proud to watch her grow into the wife, mother and person that she is today. Someday our kids will play together, and we will sit back and be proud Mom's and hope they are best friends too. (they don't have a choice) And I'm so thankful for a wonderful growing friendship, that I know no matter what happens or where life takes us, we'll always be friends. I am excited for what's to come, it's exciting to watch your friends and know all the dreams they have had and to see God bring that out, and into completion. I see that now in Sara, her and her hubby Ben are youth pastors, and amazing ones at that! They are doing so many amazing things, and it's awesome to see all the hopes, dreams and plans we had in college really come to life, and to see God's faithfulness in it all. I am off to get something done so I can actually meet them at my house later! Toodles!

Save the Date

Save the date for August 8th! The Sisterhood is back! I saw a movie trailer for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 a few days ago. This is not a movie for a date night with hubby, this is a bring your girl friends and make a girls night out of it kind of movie. Hopefully I can make the reunion happen and find myself on August 8th in a movie theatre with the same two amazing women I saw the first one with. This movie holds a special place in my heart and always will. Brings me back to a theatre in Block E three years ago, with 2 amazing girls I call my best friends, and eating Coldstone afterwards! I feel as if then we were girls, just starting out on our own, but now we are women, mothers and wives. Sometimes a movie can touch your heart, make you think, and you know know that you are totally blessed to have great friends. We watched the first movie together as our own "sisterhood" laughing and literally crying when it was over. We stayed in our seats while the credits were read, and well after people had left. Here's a pic below of us at the first movie 3 years ago. >
I know it sounds silly but each one of us identified with with the 4 characters of the movie. We were missing a 4th that day which made the impact of the movies message even stronger and more meaningful to us. Much like the girls in the movie we are all scattered all over now, but I know that no matter the distance or what's happening in life we will always be there for each other. Call me the dreamer, or the eternal optimist, but I believe in friendship and the power that it has to complete you as a person, change you, and bring joy to your life. God didn't design us to live alone, and to be alone. I am thankful for my friends so much. Each of them has taught me something about myself, life, and how to love life, and embrace. I can sit here now and run down the list of the amazing girls in my life, and how God has orchestrated all of them for a certain time in life. You know who you are, and the place you have, and I am so grateful and thankful for you. I believe we have more to come, and our story isn't finished yet!

This Weekend....

This weekend....
The Hubby and I are finally opening our home to friends and family, and having a house warming party! We've lived in our house about a month now, and it's taken me that long to get it all ready and feel like I can have people over, and it's not a mess. We're super excited to show the house off to all our family & friends. It'll be the first time most have seen it. We've been making the finishing touches all week.

My family is coming into town for the weekend, it'll be there first time staying with us. And I am so excited that this time we will actually have room for them. My BBFs will all be there too, I'm excited for it. It's nice to be able to have a place for people to stay and feel welcome! I hope we have visitors often! So on Saturday, I will be the hostest with the mostest entertaining friends and giving them tours of our home!

Footprints in the Sand

I had to share this with you all, Leona Lewis I'm loving her right now. She won the British version of American Idol. Her voice is amazing, she has a beautiful voice. I love this song called "Footprints in the Sand," it's like the poem came to live in a song. I always think of my sister when I read that poem, it's one of her favorites. This song made me think of her too, and the overwhelming love that Christ has for all of us. Even when I don't deserve it. He still loves me and has all these dreams and hopes for me, and I'm so glad he's in control of my life, I'm so thankful and blessed everyday that he carries me through.

We're Home!

We're finally home from Oklahoma! Orion and I made a long weekend out of our trip home for the wedding. We finally got home Monday. We stayed over night on Sunday at my parents in Iowa, we were tired of driving by this point and we were close to my parents.

Kyle and Melissa's wedding was so beautiful. Such vibrant colors of oranges and pinks. It was simple, elegant and classic! Melissa looked amazing in her dress, and Kyle couldn't be more cute as he watched her walk down the asile. They are a cute couple, and so perfect for each other. Here's a few pics from the day:

The Kiss
The new Mr. & Mrs. Cherry It was a beautiful day for a wedding, and of coarse I had to get a pic of me and my hubby all glamed up! I love weddings, I think a little to much. We have 3 more this summer! Head on over to my photography blog to see more pictures of Kyle & Melissa's big day!

We really had a wonderful weekend. It was good to see friends and family.

Road Trip

This weekend Orion and I made a "little" road trip to Oklahoma! We drove from Minnesota to Oklahoma. We're in town for Orion's friend Kyle's wedding, Orion is a groomsmen and I am looking forward to seeing him in a tux! We left Thursday night and rolled into Kansas City around 12:30 am and got some sleep. We arrived in Owasso this morning around 11 am. It was such a fun trip, we had some great times keeping each other awake by playing the state capital game, and state mottos!
We're happy to be here, even if it's just a couple days. Orion's friends from home are so wonderful, and I have enjoyed spending time with them in the three years that we've been together! I leave wishing I had a southern accent too!

Orion & I finally arrived in Ok!

Tonight was the rehersal and dinner. So fun to be with great people, and have a down home southern BBQ! Kyle's fiance' is truly wonderful. Melissa is even more beautiful and charming in person. Kyle really has picked a good one! She's adorable. Tomorrow is their wedding and I am so excited! I love weddings, and I especially love them when they are between two of your close friends. Orion is out having a "guys" night with Kyle and the rest of the men, while I am sitting here blogging and catching up on t.v. Ahh.....I love vacation! More to come on our Oklahoma adventures!

Toodles!

I wish...........

I was on Dancing with the Stars! Seriously...if I could have a job where I could dance all day long and get paid for it I would. Plus, you get to wear really cute and fun outfits, and heels! I think that beats any office job I've ever had or will! I've been pretty hooked since season 1! You've heard me rant and rave before, and I just love, love this show! They all seem to have so much fun, and truly have fun with each other. Last night was the finale, if you didn't watch it you missed out and will have to wait till next season. Or, catch it on You Tube. Either way I'll be patiently waiting till the end of summer when they announce next seasons cast!

PS- If I couldn't be a dancer on the show, I would for sure want Samantha's job! She too gets to dress up fancy! Isn't this so fun!?!

Going for Gold!

Last night was the season 6 finale of DWTS! If you didn't watch you missed out! Kristi & Mark took the cake. I was hoping it would come down to Kristi & Mark and Cheryl & Christian. But it came down to Jason & Edyta and Mark & Kristi! I wished I was there live to see it, but for now you'll just have to enjoy this video I found of Kristi's win of that ugly mirror ball trophy! I hope she places it right next to her Olympic gold!

Green Thumb

This past Saturday I got up early and went flower shopping. I've been so excited and wanted to plant some flowers around my home. I don't have much of a green thumb and most of the flowers I buy or that have been given to me usually don't last long. But I decided I was turning over a new leaf, and I was going to try and water them and keep them alive as much as possible. I found these cute little planters that would hang over my fence to plant flowers in. I wanted to get them done all before the house warming party at the end of the month. It was a beautiful day on Saturday, it was so much fun picking them out and then putting it all together. Finally I am done, and they are beautiful hanging on my fence. Even Orion was impressed! I added a few finishing touches to our patio that day. I added our welcome sign to our front door. I feel like the house comes more and more together each day. We're getting a new fridge this week, I'm excited to see the kitchen finally come together.

Chad came over this past Sunday to help Orion put up the hood over the stove. We bought a new one cause the old one really didn't match the new black stove. Next on our list of home things to do; get a guest room together. Coming from a one bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house we don't even have enough furniture to fill it all. We're really excited to have a guest room finally and be able to have people stay with us when they visit. There's just one problem right now: there's no bed for them to sleep on. That is our next thing to work on this week. It's a work in progress. We love, love, love our home!

Getting Organized

I'm a pretty organized person by nature, I color code my closets, have shoe racks, and everything has it's place in my house, and world. One of my favorite stores is Storables. I love that place, I get excited whenever I can take a trip there and get new stuff to organize my kitchen closets, etc. I'm pretty sure my hubby thinks I'm a little weird. When we lived in the apartment for lack of space everything wasn't so organized as I would have liked it to be. I promised my Hubby that when we moved into the new house I would organize and clear the "clutter" in our new place. We've been getting organized in the Worley house, and I love it. My kitchen is coming together, the garage is getting emptier by the minute and I have almost made sense of my closets. All of my stuff doesn't fit into one, so I now how 2. Which is kinda annoying to have to go back and forth between the two. It's the little things is life that get me excited and motivated. And Orion is starting to appreciate my over anal, type A personality.

So I know I'm a nerd but, I've wanted one of these for a while.
I love these, they are a cheap and easy way to get organized in your kitchen.

We now have garage shelves, we are well on our way to getting the 2nd car in there!

If I could work any other job than the one I already have, I think I would like to go into people's houses and help them organize their lives, and homes. I'm sure there's a job like that out there somewhere..I just wish I thought of it first. ;)

Collin Curtis Mills

He turned 3 weeks old on Saturday and I got to meet him for the very first time this past weekend. He's a serious sleeper this kid, he loves his naps, and one thing is for sure his big sisters love him more! I had to fight with my five year old niece Jocelynn for cuddling time! She didn't give up easily. He's so cute and adorable! My sister and brother in law have waited a long time for a boy, and you can tell they are totally in love with him. Here's a few pictures from the weekend and Collin's first meeting with Auntie Annie!

We're pretty much all in love with him!! I am 3 times an Aunt now. The list is complete with Collin now. Jocelynn is five, Alexia is almost 3 in September, and Collin 3 weeks old. I can't wait to spoil him along with the others.

Hair today...gone tomorrow!

I just got a hair cut last night, and a color by the Fabulous Tarah Thomas! It's been about 3 months since I've had a hair cut and color; it was well over due! I've been wanting to do something different with my hair for a while, right after I got married I cut 9 inches off. Hubby wasn't excited about it, he thought it was cute when I got home but for the past few months has been begging me to grow it out and not cut it anymore. Needless to say last night was just a trim while I continue to decide what to do with my hair. My sister just got a sassy cut and new red hair color! She's pretty smokin'.
Today I am bored and supposed to be working, but I found this cool tool, and I have been trying out all sorts of different looks. This little tool allows you to try on tons of new hair cuts and styles as well as changing the color. It's fun and it's free! I've been playing with it a little this morning. Here's what I've come up with;

inspired by Reese

inspired by Lauren

What do you think? It'll take me forever to grow my hair out this long, but I am having tons of fun playing and seeing what I would look like with these new look. For now, I have sassy short blonde hair...which I love.

Happy Hair day Everyone!

Happy Feet!

If you read my blog yesterday you heard me rave of DWTS 100th episode that was coming up. The high light for me last night and my favorite part(s) were probably 2 things! One, Cheryl and Christian are staying and in the competition another week! YES! And two, the group dance that opened up the show. The group dances are truly amazing, I love when they do the group dances. And to see them live is even better, last nights was SOOO GOOD! But, I just had to share this clip of last nights group dance. I loved all the glitter, the dance, and it made me wanna get my dancing shoes on! Hubby was even inspired as he danced around the living room painting! Now, that is a video you should see!

Happy Dancing!

Loving It!

I am loving DWTS this season! I get my dancing shoes on every Monday & Tuesday. Of coarse, I've always loved it you've heard me rave before but, last night was especially good! Kristi is my favorite celeb of the season, I've been a fan of hers since she was on skates. But, my favorite pro dancer has always been Cheryl Burke. She won two times in a row with Drew & Emmitt, she's pretty amazing! She's the best, and I love watching her. She's been out of the finals for a couple seasons now (last season she was paired with Wayne Newton), she's making a come back this year! Last night her and Christian' did an amazing job despite his injury from the week before. Cheryl choreographed a one armed routine so as not to put any strain on his left injured arm! They tore it up, and landed 1st on the leader board beating out top leaders Kristi and Jason. I hope they make it to the final 3! My picks: Cheryl & Christian', Edyta & Jason, and Kristi and Mark will be in the final 3! We'll see if my picks are right! Tonight is the 100th episode of the show and I am excited to see some of my dancing favorites take the stage again!

1,2,3....times locked out!

It's true Hubby and I have lived in our brand new home for 1 week now, and we've managed to lock ourselves out of the house 3 times! This past Sunday was the 3rd time being locked out, at 9am right before Church. We have been very lucky each time to manage to get ourselves back into our house with out calling a locksmith.
#1 was the day after we moved in! We locked out garage the night before and knew we didn't have a key but figured it was fine because we had "working" garage door openers to let us in. So we woke up Saturday morning ready to paint and found out that the garage was locked and the openers didn't work. We couldn't get at any painting supplies, or boxes to unpack because they were all locked in the garage! Come to find out Hubby had flipped the garage power source to "off" the night before and didn't know that was the switch for it. So the garage door openers didn't work. Our good friend Eric came over and opened it with his credit card (some security we have!)
#2 was the same day....I know what you're thinking...seriously these Worley's need to have an extra key. We have 2 locks on our front door a dead bolt that has a key less entry pad on it so you never really need a key, just a code, and another lock that you have to have a key. Well, with out knowing it when we left to go get more stuff from the apartment we were moving out of I locked the dead bolt and brought the key. And Hubby locked the other lock and "thought" I had a key. We got home and quickly realized that we'd locked ourselves out again. Fortunately for us the window to the kitchen was unlocked and Orion crawled through and let us in.

#3 as I said was yesterday... My hubby had come home from doing truck that morning for the church and set the keys in the closet on a hook. Made himself coffee, while I finished getting ready. When we were ready to leave I saw Orion walk out the door with keys in his hand and I walked out behind him and shut the door. I heard Hubby say, "oh crap!" and I knew we'd done it again. Turns out those keys in his hand were to the church truck, not our car keys and house keys. But, hubby came to the rescue again and got us back in the house! We really need to get a grip on this! No more locking ourselves out of the house!

Paint by Number!

Last night we finished painting are long awaited living room. While there really no numbers involved except for the number of walls, we took a break this week from house projects just to relax and breathe from the whirlwind of moving and doing so much all in one weekend. But, last night we finished the living room and we able to put the furniture in the room and set it up. Our living room used to be forest green and a mustard combination. Orion affectionately called it the "big green monster." So last night we tackled the "green monster" finally. It actually went a lot faster than either of us thought it would. After painting our bedroom, kitchen and half of our living room we thought the painting would never end.

Orion tackling the "green monster."

We did finish, and I couldn't be more happy to be done. We still have to do some trim spots that are tricky so we have to get smaller brushes, but for the most part we are done! I'm looking forward to a weekend of finally be able to UN-pack more and start decorating! Orion and I both agree we need some color! Right now we're living in a sea of brown paint. It's going to be wonderful when we're all done. It's been interesting doing it all by ourselves, it really makes it seem like "our home" now that we've done all these things to it. It doesn't even feel like the same home we looked at. It's finally ours, and there's no better feeling!

Saturday morning Orion and I will be getting a new stove put in, I am excited! It's funny how all these little things can make you so excited and happy. I feel really blessed that we've been able to have this nice house, and make the necessary repairs that it needs. God's really blessed us, and we couldn't be more thankful. It's something that we needed to replace because the old one is really old, and isn't working the best. When our inspector suggested we replace it as soon as we could for efficiency purposes and so that we didn't blow a fuse and start something on fire, we were like OK Lord; please provide! And he did, and we're getting a new one Saturday. It's a blessing.
