Made with LOVE for Baby G:

I've been seeing clips for infants and girls all over the place, I've even bought a few for Baby G. There are tons of great vendors on Esty, Lil' Sugarplum and other sites that sell cute, chic hair accessories for little girls.

After Orion told me that I should start making my own instead of buying them other places, it got me thinking..... so today I picked up some supplies and from 6pm till about 10pm here's what I made for Baby G:
Headbands:
Clips:

There's about eighty total, there's no way Baby G will be able to wear them all but I think I might give them away to friends and family that have little girls. I have two little nieces that these would be perfect for!

What do you think?

Hubby says that I should try to sell them on Esty, would you buy them? Which ones are your faves?

Thanksgiving Review: 2009

Orion and I got up early Thanksgiving morning, grabbed Starbucks and made the hour and a half trip up North to spend the holiday with family in Cottonwood, AZ. Here's a few pics from our Thanksgiving:

We had a really great trip! I'm so glad we made the trip and were able to spend the Holiday with people we love. Thank you Julie & Cam for the wonderful baby gifts! I love them and so will Baby G!

Friday, I got up early and went shopping with my Pastor's wife Beverly. I had 3 major things I wanted to get for gifts and I got them all. We had staff Thanksgiving on Friday afternoon. So fun all sitting around the table and sharing that time together.

Later Orion and I came home and cleaned out the Christmas decos from storage and starting trimming the tree and putting up Holiday decorations. We played Christmas music, and danced in our living room. It was so fun. I just kept thinking that next year Baby G will get to join us in the fun.

Today, Orion and I did some more holiday shopping we finished all the people on our list. I've wrapped all my gifts now I just need to get them in the mail to family. It feels so nice to have those all done!

I hope you and yours had a blessed Holiday weekend! Happy Thanksgiving from Worley House!

Thanksgiving: Setting the Table

Setting the Perfect Table:

Two rules to remember:
  1. Utensils are placed in the order of use.
  2. Forks go to the left of the plate, and knives and spoons go to the right.
And, I say make it your own add your own flair with pretty plates, stemware and table cloths. You can also add your own decor touches to make it perfect for your guests. Place cards are also a really fun and creative way to dress up your table and make it more personal!

Free Tip of the Week: Cute Necklaces

I found these cute necklaces from Tiny Tags Designs today, they have a bunch of really pretty necklaces that you can personalize and make your own. I love how pretty and dainty these are. They have different designs for all the ladies in your life, I just happen to find a few cute "Mommy" ones that I'd like to get. These are my top 3 choices from the site:
Initial Necklace
$40
Comes with 2 different fonts you can choose for it

Birthstone Print Necklace
$45
+ $10 for the birthstone personalization
I like this one cause you can really personalize this one, and add more disks as you have more children.

2 Disk Monogram Necklace
$45
This one is really cute too, I like the idea of having one for the name and one for the birth date.

I just can't decided which one I like best, what do you think?

Starting the Day:

I have a few devotional books that I rotate between and read. Here's what I love about all 3 of these books; the format is daily. No matter what day, week, or year you pick these up you can start reading. I like devos that are daily, I feel they work best for me. They give a reference point and I like that.

Here's my #1 tip for starting a devotional life: Find what works best for you. You can talk to others about what they do but, in the end you have to find what works best for you.

For example; my Husband is a morning devo guy. The type that gets up before work prays and does his devos. I am not a morning person, I am not at my best in the AM. So I do my devos and pray mid morning over coffee usually around 10 am. I feel more awake at this time and it's just better for me. There's no right or wrong way, just find what works for you best and start.

Here's a few of my fave devotionals to read:
New Day, New You
by Joyce Meyer

I bought this devo a couple years back at a Women's Retreat. And I've been loving it ever since, I like her writing and perspective.
My Utmost for His Highest
by Oswald Chambers

This is a classic, given to me by my Grandmother. She reads this daily, and has for years. She gave this to me while I was in college. And even though my version is King James and older I still love it. I love his thoughts, and what this book brings to the table.
The Message Remix: Solo

My Husband picked up this devo this year, and he really loves it. I like it for the fresh and modern take on scripture. I like mixing this in with the older staples.

What are some of your favorite devo books?

Dress up your Dresser

We found this dresser for Baby G's room on Craigslist, we've been looking for a dresser for her room for sometime now and I always check sites like Craigslist for furniture first before we buy something new at the store. It's an IKEA piece that retails for $179, we got it for $50! I'm beyond excited, and it's less than two years old and in great condition.

Originally, we wanted to get a dresser that we could paint black and makeover, but once we saw this piece we decided that we liked the white and it looked perfect with all the other white furniture in the room.

But we knew we wanted to re purpose it a little bit, so here's what we did:

Here's the dresser before:

And here's our little transformation:
We bought these new acrylic knobs from Target and replaced the old dark bronze ones. And I added paper to line the drawers that was similar to the bedding fabric.

Here's what you'll need to line drawers:
-Double Sided tape
- fabric, wrapping paper or shelf lining paper (I used a roll of wrapping paper I found for $2 at Target)
- Scissors
- Level and Tape Measure

Here's what you do:
- Measure the dimensions of your drawer, and using a level to make sure your lines are straight mark off your dimensions on the back side of the paper.
- Cut and repeat for as many draws as you may have.
- Then place the double sided tape in to your paper or fabric and secure it to the drawer shelf.
- Ta-dah! You're done!

What do you think?
I think the dresser looks awesome, and I love the way it looks in the room.

Design Inspiration & Ideas

I love perusing design & decor websites, finding pictures and keeping them on my desk top for inspiration. I clip things I like from magazines and keep them in a binder. Here's a few of my favorites from Apartment Therapy

I love the look of this minimalistic kitchen, the white and the clean lines.

Wouldn't this be a pretty entryway?!

I love the idea of having a "sitting room" like these two someday.

And I love the look & idea of minimal holiday decor that's interchangeable.

What are some of your fave design ideas, or sites?

It's almost here.....

I'm excited for Thanksgiving next week, it's Orion's favorite Holiday and I love making it special. This year we'll be spending Thanksgiving in Cottonwood, AZ with my second family. I'm very excited to spend two wonderful days with them, and thankful that we're here and can see them. The Islas' family took me in when I did my internship back in college, they were my host family. Who knew that we'd bond and become so close?!! I'm so thankful for the blessing they were in my life, and now how much of a blessing they are to both Orion and I.

Friday, we're spending the day with our staff here at Destiny Church! The ladies and I are going shopping all day, while the guys watch football and lounge at home. Then we'll all come together for dinner. I'm excited about to spend Thanksgiving with our new "family" here. It's going to be a different holiday season for us since moving here, but Orion and I feel incredibly blessed to have such great and wonderful people here who care about us, and love us immensely. It's such a blessing, and something we've been looking for along time. We always knew that one day when we became apart of a church staff that it would be like this, this is what we waited for. We could have taken many offers before but none of them were right, and it's exciting to be in this stage.

What are you doing with your family, friends and loved ones for Thanksgiving?

AZ Youth Convention 2009

We had an awesome time last weekend with our students at Arizona Youth Convention 2009! It was great to be back and spend a great weekend with our students. Allen Griffin was the speaker for the weekend, and Worth Dying For did an amazing job at worship!

Nursery Sneak Peak Pt. 4

Part 4 of our Nursery Sneak Peak; This will be our last series of posts until our BIG reveal of the room. Enjoy!
The finished crib skirt! I'm happy and excited with the way it turned out. And it was so awesome to take the time to make this just for her.
A side view of all the panels.
Our changing table the matches the crib! We added these black baskets, they coordinate with the silver rings in the curtains we chose.
Her bed. I want to hang a chandelier mobile above her bed, and add some art work above the bed too.
Another view: We're going to add curtains, a rug and some artwork to the walls. This is fast becoming my fave room in the house. I have found myself sneaking down the hall and standing in there imagining her sleeping and playing in there. It's so pretty, and I love how it's turning out.

BIG Thanks to our Pastors, who bought Orion and I Baby G's crib mattress on Sunday. Such a huge blessing and so unexpected! We're so thankful and completely blessed to have you in our lives and to get to work for such great people!

More to come in our BIG reveal stay tuned!

Nursery Sneak Peak Pt. 3

This weekend Orion and I bought the rest of the supplies we needed to finish the painting in her room. Sunday after church I prepped and measured the rest of the stripes and painted the white ones. Orion wanted to do the black ones for Baby G.
We picked up a fancy new lamp base and shade from Target, I love the look of the clear acrylic and the pale pink shade. I think it's going to look awesome in her room.

Orion painting the black stripes! I was so anxious, I couldn't wait ti rip off the tape and see what they looked like!
Here's one wall all complete! Don't they look beautiful? I'll have to take another picture so you can see the room in full effect!
Here's the inspiration for the room, and will be the fabric used in her bedding. I saw this fabric a while back at JoAnn's and looked all over for bedding. And when I didn't find anything that I liked or was reasonably priced I decided that I'd make my own.
Here's a little sneak peak of her crib skirting. I added the ribbon trim to it after I hemmed it.

We also got in the changing table this weekend, and hung the curtain rod. Now all I have to do is finish the bedding, buy curtains and add some fabric lining to the changing table and we'll be ready for the BIG Nursery Reveal!
